I paint portraits that tell a story. Everyone has an untold story that can only be seen in the features of the face, the eyes and attitude.
This is my creative goal: to see that story and recreate it in art.

My name is Melinda Thomas Robinson
I am a watercolor, oil-painting portrait artist. I'm also a "dabbler" in any new techniques that strike me as interesting. I live in Southern California where I have lived most of my life.
I am attracted to images that seem to tell a story; in the eyes and the pose of the model. I tend to do predominantly female portraits, but I also love to do children and interesting looking men. I especially am drawn to different cultures and features.
I began my art journey in watercolors, dismissing painting flowers or vegetables, and wandered over to faces, where I have remained, happily, for over ten years.
Once my walls were covered with my art and I'd given all that I could to willing recipients, I decided to market myself via Pinterest, YouTube and my own website, where I now sell some originals, prints, greeting card and bookmarks, which make nice gifts. I love sharing my journey and my resources with others, which is another "calling". My goal is to recreate beauty and to share that beauty as I grow.
