My Work

Welcome to my gallery. Take a moment to explore the beauty of watercolor and oil paintings. Each piece is a unique expression of my passion for capturing the essence of nature and human emotions.

The thing I love to do is get up close and personal in paintings.

Magnifying the images makes them feel more intimate to me and I then can feel what they're about. With flowers, I become aware of colors and details I wouldn't ordinarily notice. With faces, it's always the eyes. The eyes tell the story and the story is what I want to know.

Ceb' Waterdolor   12"x17"

'Ceb' was one of my breakthrough moments in watercolors. All the time I was painting him I felt the power of his look. I either loved him or was frightened by him.

I scour every outlet to find a face that inspires me. National Geographic is a good source.

Chinese Fisherman

Watercolor 15"x25"

I fell in love with the Chinese fishermen who use

cormorants to assist them.

It was a world I had never

known about before, which is another reason I love

researching for paintings.

I was so drawn to this woman's face. Her life journey is revealed in her eyes, her lines, even her hands. It is a woman's story untold.

Old Chinese Man

Watercolor  8.5"x11"

This is one of those faces that makes my heart ache to look at; a life of honest hard work even into old age. Still there is clarity in the eyes.

In My Dreams

Oil 10"x14"

The Man With the Piercing Blue Eyes

Watercolor 22"x30"

This is one of my largest paintings. I wanted to challenge myself and see if I liked painting on a larger surface. The image is so large that I feel his eyes on me everywhere in the room.

Boy in Gold Leaf

Oil on gold leaf  8"x8"

I love gold leafing and was excited to try an oil painting on it. This beautiful boy was the perfect image to try. He looks angelic to me.
